All Nippon Airways (ANA) has concluded comprehensive alliance agreements with China Southwest Airlines (CSWA) on April 5 and Shanghai Airlines (SAL) on April 9. ANA is currently reviewing the implementation of code-share operations, mileage accrual programs, connectivity improvements and the dispatch of flight crew amongst other areas of cooperation in each agreement.
"ANA's goal is to be the model carrier of Asia and we've been gearing up to meet growing demand between Japan and China," said Yoji Ohashi, ANA president and CEO. "By entering agreements with China Southwest Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, ANA will further a key tenet of its corporate philosophy, "customer orientation" with enhanced services and greater convenience.
As a result of the opening of the second runway at Narita airport on April 18, ANA will fly to eight destinations* in China for a total of 77 flights a week from Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai). At the same time, ANA will increase its flight schedule to double daily service (14 roundtrip flights a week) between Tokyo (Narita) - Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
