Today (9 December 2002), Thai Airways International held a press conference to
introduce the Royal Orchid Travel Gift promotion, chaired by Mr. Pichate
Satirachaval, Deputy Minister of Transport, together with Mr. Kanok
Abhiradee, Thai's President, and Mr. Tasnai Sudasna, THAI's Executive Vice
President, Commercial, at Thai's Head Office on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.
Mr. Kanok
Abhiradee, Thai's President, said "For over forty years, Thai - the
flag carrier of Thailand - has concentrated on selecting premium quality
services for increased passenger convenience. To celebrate the Year 2003,
Thai will introduce the Royal Orchid Travel Gift as an alternative gift selection
for those looking for a new dimension of quality gifts for their loved ones."
The Royal Orchid Travel Gift is ideal for any occasion, such as New Years,
birthdays, weddings or important anniversaries, with a wide selection of
travel packages from Thai's well-known Royal Orchid Holidays (ROH) and Travel Across
Thailand with Euarng Luang programs. By launching this travel gift promotion,
Thai successfully encourages expansion of the tourist industry within Thailand,
in support of the government's "Thai Travel in Thailand" policy.
The Royal Orchid Travel Gift is available in two categories:
1. Value as on voucher. Travel gift vouchers may be purchased at the
minimum price of 2,000 baht. Traveling passengers must pay the additional
amount for higher value packages. Separated gift vouchers may be used toward one purchase.
2. Value as travel package. Travel gifts vouchers may be purchased
according to the Royal Orchid traveling packages price range. Traveling passengers may select
package tours with the same price as their gift vouchers.
Royal Orchid Holidays (ROH) and The Travel Across Thailand with Euarng
Luang tour programs began operations in 1969, with connections with selected hotel
operators and travel agents, offering unique and dynamic travel programs to both
Thai and overseas travelers. Customers may select and combine their preferred
choice of itinerary from over 300 major ROH programs, including over 60 overnight programs and over 200 optional
programs, covering 107 destinations in 28 countries worldwide.
An extensive selection of travel programs are available, including Family Golf
2002 program for golfers, Honeymoon Package program for newlyweds and Fly-Drive
program for road travelers.
In addition,
Thai has launched a new advertising spot titled "A Gift From the
Sky" which is being filmed in Bangkok and Krabi, to promote the beauty of Thailand's
natural resources which are ideal for tourists. The accompanying song of the
advertisement is called "A Gift From the Sky", which was sung by "Ford" Sopchai
Krayoonsen. The spot will be broadcasted on-air in December 2002. |
