American Business Traveller magazine has once again judged airline wines.
The Finnair champagne "Laurent Perrier Grand Siècle Brut Millésime 1990,
which is served in Business Class on long haul flights, was awarded the most
points by the judges in the champagne category. Wines were judged in three
categories: red wines, white wines and sparkling wines.
In the tasting held in New York City, the 35 member judging panel assessed
the quality of airline wine cellars for the fourteenth time and tasted over
250 wines. This year the "Best Cellar in the Sky" award went to Korean Air,
whose wine list is 100 percent French.
Finnair wines have won widespread international acclaim several years
running. In 1997 Finnair received the Decanter magazine award for best
airline wine list. In 1997, 1999 and 2000 Finnair won the Business Traveller
magazine "Best Cellar in the Sky" award. In 1998 and 2000, Finnair's white
wine was chosen as the best by Business Traveller.
Business Traveller gives over 30 travel awards annually. The readers of the
magazine belong to the forefront of international business travel and fly an
average of 24 return flights per year.
