Kevin J. Beauvais, General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel, Bangkok, has relocated to Phuket to manage JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa.
In addition to his role as General Manager in Phuket, Kevin's responsibilities as Area General Manager for Thailand include providing directional leadership on operational issues to the four additional Marriott properties in the Kingdom - JW Marriott Hotel, Bangkok, Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa, Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa and Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa.
The Mayfair Marriott Executive Apartments for extended stay travelers in Bangkok will open in early 2003, bringing a total of six Marriott properties in Thailand under the regional leadership of Mr
Beauvais.
Kevin's career with Marriott International spans more than twenty-four years during which he has opened nine properties.
A native of Chicago, Illinois (USA), Kevin's career with Marriott International spans more than twenty-four years, during which he has opened nine hotels. Starting in 1979 at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort in Illinois, USA, Kevin gained valuable experience in a number of line positions before being selected as a Management Trainee. He rose through the ranks at various properties including the Oakbrook Marriott, Marriott Chicago Downtown and the Newark Airport Marriott in New Jersey before being appointed as General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Minneapolis/St. Paul in 1988.
Following a two year posting as General Manager of the Marriott Hotel in El Paso, Texas, Kevin embarked on his international career, opening JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok in 1997 and assuming the regional role as Area General Manager for Thailand in November 2001. Having come up through the ranks of the hotel system, Kevin firmly believes that a hotel's greatest asset is the employees, a core foundation of the Marriott philosophy.
Kevin is the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand and Chairman of the Youth Career Incentive Program with UNICEF Thailand. He previously served on the Board of Children Miracle Network and the Boy Scouts of America.
He and his wife Therese have been very involved with fund raising for numerous causes, focusing their charity efforts on education, children with developmental disabilities and with Orphanages. |
