Residensea to call on Dubai in 2004 and 2005

Travel News Asia 8 October 2002

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced that cruise ship Residensea - a style-setting resort that continuously circles the earth will be calling on Dubai in 2004 and 2005.

"Our participation at the recently concluded Seatrade Mediterranean Cruise & Ferry Convention in Genoa (Italy) has yielded many positive leads and Residensea, a style-setting resort that continuously circles the earth, and follows the sun to the most desirable destinations around the globe has confirmed a Dubai call," said DTCM Acting Manager, Cruise Terminal, Awadh Al Seghayer.

"Residensea has 110 privately owned residences and 88 luxurious guest suites aboard the cruise liner set in a luxurious, unstructured environment where guests have the freedom to do as much or as little as they choose" noted Mr. Al Seghayer.

"A floating oasis of style and culture, not quite like a land resort and not a cruise either. It is a resort community at sea with an eye for the intriguing, the enlightening, and the gratifying experiences the world has to offer and we are delighted that they have included Dubai in their itinerary for 2004 and 2005 following our marketing efforts," Mr. Al Seghyer stressed.

Mr. Al Seghayer remarked, "The Genoa event provided the perfect opportunity to network with key players in the cruise industry and the Residensea call is one among several positive leads that resulted from our participation."

Mr. Al Seghayer added, "That Residensea's decision reflects Dubai's success as a cruise destination in a very short span of time to be considered a fascinating port of call."

The Dubai Cruise Terminal has been created to attract more cruise lines to winter in the region, as well as to provide streamlined passenger facilities for the growing number of passenger ships using Dubai as a turnaround port.

Residensea's unique lifestyle offers guests the freedom and flexibility of a land-based resort, enhanced by the ever-changing myriad activities and attractions available in fascinating ports of call including extended port stays of up to five days for in-depth exploration and overnights in more than half the ports visited.
