The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced that leading travel buyers from eight key travel origin markets of Dubai would be hosted as part of a drive to strengthen the emirate’s position in existing markets during the Arabian Travel Market that opens later today May 7th.
“Every effort is being made to ensure the success of the ATM for the local travel trade participating at the event and we have arranged a comprehensive hosted buyers programme by sponsoring the Dubai visit of travel trade professionals from eight key markets that have displayed a keen interest in promoting Dubai packages,” said DTCM Director General, Khalid A. bin
Sulayem.
He added that 25 travel buyers, tour wholesalers and tour operators from strategic overseas tourism markets in which Dubai has existing ties and is exploring new opportunities including the UK, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Kenya and South Africa are currently in Dubai at the invitation of the department.
The selection of the travel trade for this hosted buyers programme has been made in consultation with the DTCM’s international network of overseas offices.
“Our objective in hosting these key travel buyers from important markets, is to influence them about Dubai's attractions and in turn through them, influence the end user, that is travellers from these major markets,” remarked Mr.bin
Sulayem.
A comprehensive itinerary has been arranged for the buyers that will include a tour of the emirate designed to equip them with detailed knowledge of Dubai's diverse attractions. The travel buyers will also have an opportunity to network with industry professionals on the Dubai stand at the ATM.
“Securing the support of the major tour operators is vital in building a broader marketing base in any major market and through this familiarization visit, we aim to raise awareness and increase our on-the-ground sales teams in targeted markets world-wide,” remarked Mr. bin
Sulayem.
