US Airways has opened its first international US Airways Club at London Gatwick Airport in the U.K., enabling travelers to relax in a comfortable private setting prior to boarding their flight.
In addition to US Airways Club members, the new facility may be used by transatlantic First Class and Envoy Class passengers. US Airways Clubs are also available at 22 locations in the U.S.
The modern two-level Club can be accessed via the fourth level of London Gatwick’s South terminal and features panoramic views of the airport and runway operations. A curved staircase leads to the mezzanine level, which offers a plasma television and a complimentary full-service bar, including champagne. Also available is fine coffee, tea, cappuccino and espresso.
On the main level of the Club, guests are offered mid-morning snacks and can choose from a full selection of newspapers and magazines. Additional features on the main level include telephone workstations with U.S. and U.K. power and data ports, a fax machine, copier and shredder.
US Airways also operates a separate Arrivals Lounge for First Class and Envoy Class customers arriving on overnight flights from the U.S. The Arrivals Lounge, which celebrates its first anniversary this week, is conveniently located curbside, close to the Customs Hall and adjacent to the Gatwick Rail Station.
First Class and Envoy Class customers are offered a complimentary First Class rail ticket on Gatwick Express, departing nonstop every 15 minutes to central London. Alternatively, First Class and Envoy Class passengers can choose complimentary limousine service for destinations within a 50-mile radius of Gatwick or a complimentary ticket on the Speedlink coach service for transfers to London Heathrow.
US Airways operates daily service between London Gatwick and Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Charlotte, N.C. Beginning June 16, a second daily London-Philadelphia flight will be added. In the U.K., US Airways also operates daily service between Manchester and Philadelphia. |
