A delegation of Dubai Shopping Festival led by Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer of DSF, will leave for Muscat on December 15, 2002 to conduct a series of road shows in GCC countries to promote the key attractions of DSF 2003. These road shows are being organized in co-operation with Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Emirates Airlines.
The delegation includes Major Jassim Abdul Ghafoor, Head of the Reception Committee and Head of Administration and Financial Affairs, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), Mr. Ibrahim Ahli, Manager, Overseas Promotions, DTCM, Mr. Mohammed Al Fardan, Member of the Organising Committee, DSF and Ms. Elham Abbas, Corporate Communications Director of
DSF.
Thirty-one corporate representatives have also confirmed their attendance at these road shows. These representatives belong to Dubai's leading hotels, tour operators, trade magazines, and car rental companies. They are scheduled to attend travel workshops conducted at each of the cities to familiarise the local travel trade with DSF attractions and packages.
The delegation will be holding a press conference and a travel workshop in Muscat on the 15th of December, Doha on the 16th of December, Kuwait on the 17th of December and Bahrain on the 18th of December.
The second delegation headed by Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda will travel to Saudi Arabia and visit Riyadh on the 22nd of December, Al Khobar on the 23rd and Jeddah on the 24th of December.
This delegation will also include Major Jassim Abdul Ghafoor, Khalifa Buamaim, Executive Overseas Promotion, DTCM, Mohammed Al Fardan and Salah Al Naqi, Carpet Oasis and Khalid Al Shaffar, Marketing Co-ordinator, Dubai Shopping Festival.
Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda said: "These annual roadshows are an extremely important element of our promotional calendar. This year the GCC markets have a special significance, since the Spring Holidays and the Eid Holidays coincide with the dates of Dubai Shopping Festival. Our entertainment events mix also has several individual elements catering to the GCC tourist. During the road shows we talk directly to the travel trade and the media in each market, and familiarise them with major promotions and new attractions."
