China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), the largest airline in The People's Republic of China, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its non-stop 747-400 cargo service between Los Angeles and Shanghai - with continuing service to Shenzhen, China - with a 4th weekly flight each Monday.
China Southern Airlines' expanded new Monday Boeing 747-400 cargo service - effective immediately - will operate through the end of December 2002.
Coupled with China Southern's non-stop 777 passenger flights (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday) between LAX and Guangzhou, China - the airline's worldwide hub - China Southern Airlines is able to offer numerous cargo options - either 777 "belly" cargo or 747-400 freighter service - between Southern California and China.
China Southern Airlines added this new Monday flight "due to heavy lift from Southern China into America," said Mr. Wei Jia Liao, General Manager/Los Angeles, China Southern Airlines. He added that, "with continuing service to Shenzhen, China Southern is able to offer point-to-point cargo service between America and China using the best 747 cargo airplane in the world."
China Southern's new 747-400 cargo service with flight number CZ 398, departs Los Angeles International Airport at 1:00 a.m. The non-stop flight will arrive at 6:00 a.m. (+ 1 day) in Shanghai - then continue south to Shenzhen. The departing flight from Shenzhen, China is CZ 397 and will make a fuel stop in Anchorage, Alaska before arriving at LAX.

China Southern Airlines also operates three, 747-400 cargo flights each week between Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and Shanghai's Pudong International Airport - with continuing service to
