World-famous photographer Lord Lichfield will be the guest of honour at the
inaugural Business Traveller Middle East Awards at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai
on Wednesday, May 8.
Lord Lichfield, a cousin of Britains Queen Elizabeth II, will present the
awards at the glittering ceremony to recognise the best airlines, airports,
duty free shopping, hotels, golf courses and car hire companies in the
region.
Business Traveller Middle East readers in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi
Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and Egypt have been surveyed to determine
the winners.
Managing Director, Nick Perry, said: Unlike other awards which are decided
from within the industry, Business Traveller awards are decided by the
people who really matter the businessmen and women who rely on airlines,
hotels and car hire companies in their everyday working lives.
Survey forms were included in last months edition of Business Traveller
Middle East and were also sent to every subscriber in the region.
The categories in the survey included Best Airline Serving the Middle East,
Best Regional Airline, Best Airport in the Middle East, Best Airport for
Duty Free Shopping, Best Business Hotel, Best Leisure/Resort Hotel, Best
Golf Course and Best Car Rental Company.
Lord Lichfield, who travels extensively for his high-profile work, said:
The standards set by the travel industry in the Middle East are among the
best in the world, and it is fitting that the hard work of so many people is
recognised in this way.
Leading members of the regions travel industry will be present at the
awards lunch - held during the Arabian Travel Market - where this years
winners will be announced.
Queen Noor of Jordan was guest of honour at last years awards ceremony in
New York, while Britains Princess Anne presented the awards in London.
We are very excited about the first Business Traveller Middle East Awards
which are set to become an annual celebration of the travel industry in the
region, Mr Perry said. Business Traveller awards are coveted within the
industry and it remains to be seen who will come out on top in our extensive
reader survey. |
