American Airlines announced that beginning immediately it will extend its codeshare agreement with SWISS to 12 additional points beyond Paris, Brussels, and Zurich. SWISS, the newly branded national airline of Switzerland, is one of Europe's largest carriers.
American will place its AA code on SWISS flights beyond Paris Charles de Gaulle to Bern, Geneva, and Zurich; beyond Brussels to Basel and Zurich; and beyond Zurich to Bologna, Gothenburg, Oslo, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Venice.
Last month, American put its AA code on SWISS’ eight daily trans-Atlantic flights between Switzerland and seven U.S. gateways, as well as on SWISS flights beyond Zurich to 20 new points in Europe. SWISS’ U.S. gateways are Boston, New York Kennedy, Newark, Washington, Chicago O'Hare, Miami and Los Angeles.
SWISS, in turn, placed its code on American’s two daily trans-Atlantic flights between Zurich and its U.S. gateways of Dallas/Fort Worth and New York Kennedy.
American and SWISS will continue to explore opportunities to codeshare on SWISS flights to destinations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as well as on American's extensive network in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America.
