Robert Zogbi has been appointed General Manager of the two InterContinental hotels and the Holiday Inn Resort property managed by Six Continents Hotels in Egypt’s second city, Alexandria.
Zogbi takes charge with immediate effect at the InterContinental Windsor Palace Alexandria and the InterContinental Le Metropole Alexandria as well as the Holiday Inn Resort Alexandria.
Previously Regional Director of Operations for Six Continents Hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Egypt, Zogbi joined InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in 1983 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In the Middle East, he has served as Resident Manager of the InterContinental Abu Dhabi and General Manager of both the InterContinental Resort and Casino Hurghada and The Regency InterContinental Bahrain.
Also in Egypt, Edward Chaaya has been appointed General Manager of the Holiday Inn Resort Safaga Palace. For the past two years, Chaaya has been general manager of the Holiday Inn Downtown Dubai. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the hotel industry, having held several senior positions in operations, sales and marketing, and management in the Middle East.
Sayed Hassan has returned to Oman as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Salalah. Backed by 23 years’ experience with InterContinental and Holiday Inn, Hassan was previously General Manager of the hotel – the first Holiday Inn property in the Middle
East – between 1993 and 1995. He later became General Manager of two Holiday Inn resort hotels at Safaga and Hurghada on Egypt’s Red Sea coast.
Hassan, who has been appointed a member of the country’s Omanization Committee on
his return to Oman, began his hotel career in the food and beverage sector after gaining a
BSc degree in hotel administration from the University of Helwan in Cairo.
He was formerly Executive Assistant Manager of the Crowne Plaza Jeddah, and also
while in Saudi held the position of F&B consultant for the InterContinental hotels in
Makkah and Al Madinah. |
