Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Asiana Airlines, Inc. announced today a strategic alliance, increasing Shangri-La's total number of frequent
flyer partnerships to 29 - the largest number of loyalty programmes from
an Asian-based hotel company. Asiana Club members will earn 500 "miles"each time they stay at any of Shangri-La's 38 hotels and resorts on a corporate rate or above from 1 June, 2002.
Commenting on the new partnership, Carmen Lam, Shangri-La's Group Sales and Marketing Director, said: 'As Asiana Airlines is a major Asian carrier with
almost eight million Asiana Club members, this is a significant alliance, which
further strengthens our dominance in Asia by targeting frequent travellers from Korea.'
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, the largest Asian-based luxury hotel company in the region, currently manages 38 hotels in mainland China, Fiji, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand with a rooms inventory of almost 20,000. |
