Sanctuary Resorts, the Hong Kong based resort management company that creates holistic resorts where people experience the pleasure of developing their mind, body and spirit, has recently engaged Bill Bensley to supervised the overall design and appearance of the Hotel de la Paix in Siem Riep Cambodia.
Bill Bensley, whose designs for resorts like Bali Hyatt, Anantara Resort, Regent Chiang Mai and Rajvillas – Jaipur have been recognized amongst today’s most innovative resort garden and development designers, will work closely with both the owner, Soukoun Chanpreda and Sanctuary Resort on the overall concept and appearance of the resort.

The four storey development will be contemporary Asian in design and will reflect modern Indo-Chinese values and forward looking interpretations of the cultural aspects of Cambodia and the region. The public spaces, gardens and overall design will not dwell on Cambodia’s glorious Khmer past but instead focus on balancing the past with a contemporary, and forward looking resort concept not yet seen in this part of the region.

Mock up rooms and conceptual design will be available for trade and press viewing during ATF 2003, which is to be held in Cambodia in January 2003.

Construction on the resort is expected to commence by end of August and development is currently still on schedule for its opening in November 2003.

Sanctuary Resorts currently manages The Bale, in Bali and is developing additional resort projects in Thailand, Bali and Cambodia. All the sharing the same values, holistic body, mind and spirit programs and community development and environmental sustainable policies.
