Thai Airways International Public Company Limited today announced the official relocation of its Shanghai office at Kerry Center. The airline has merged its administrative and ticketing offices into one, offering its customers and business partners more efficient services and attention.
With this added opportunity, THAI also celebrates its newly increased flight operations to China, with the launch of its daily morning flight which was introduced on April 1. With the additional slot, THAI flies 14 flights per week from Shanghai to Bangkok departing at 7:25 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. every day, adding 4 morning flights to the previous 3 morning flights and regular afternoon flights. The additional flights will be more convenient for commuters and travelers due to the advantageous time slot.

Enhanced routes and the new office location in Shanghai support THAI’s dedication to building a new base for its business development in China. Mr. Ramangkura continued, “A bulk of our passengers are the growing number of expatriates in Shanghai, who choose Thailand as their holiday resort and ideal stopover prior to returning home their their travels.”

THAI’s Shanghai operations have been successful in both cargo and passenger areas. Passenger revenue, accounting for 70% of the total revenue from October 2001 to the end of February 2002, increased by 38% compared to the same period last year while THAI’s cargo revenue increased 19% during the same period.
THAI began operating to Guangzhou in 1981, followed by Beijing in 1983 and Shanghai in 1993. THAI currently flies to 5 destinations in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, and service to Chengdu introduced early this year, with altogether 38 flights per week.
