The International Council of Tourism Partners has announced its participation in the upcoming Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN) international conference "Land of the Pharaohs" to be held in Cairo, Egypt from September 18 to 29.
"In ICTP's effort to maximize the opportunity presented by OSSN's membership with ICTP, we are pleased to be working with them on this project," said ICTP Chairman Thomas Steinmetz.
According to Steinmetz the keynote speaker for this event will be Dr. Zahi Hawass, Director General of the Antiquities of Giza Pyramids and Saqqara. Dr. Hawass is known for his discoveries in Egypt including the discovery of the tombs of the pyramid builders, a new pyramid near the Great Pyramid of Cheops, a large settlement at Giza and the Tomb of son of King Teti at Saqqara. Dr Hawass has participated in many documentary films and lectured to many distinguished audiences in the US, Europe and in Egypt as well as the author of several books.
Also scheduled to speak is Elinor Garely for ICTP. Elinor Garely was formerly with Playboy Clubs & Hotels and the Copacabana group of disco's and restaurants as Marketing Manager. She holds an MBA in Marketing and International Business from New York University, Graduate School of Business and is a candidate for a Doctorate in International Business from the University of Sarasota, Florida. Ms. Garely is based in New
York.
Planned activities for this event include three travel segments. First is a three-day Sharm el Sheikh stay where participant can travel to Mt. Sinai, dive or snorkel at Ras Mohammed National Park and tour the many resorts located in this "Playground of the Red Sea."
The second segment will be the Red Sea Excursion which is a five-day Nile Cruise on the Five-Star MV Tulip, owned by Wings Group Egypt which will sail from Luxor to Aswan and includes outside staterooms with "floor to ceiling" sliding windows in each cabin. All shore excursions are included.
The final travel segment will be a four-day stay in Cairo and Giza for the conference event. This stay includes accommodation at Le Meridien Pyramids Resort, guided tours of the Great Pyramids, Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum and its famous "Mummies Room," special dinner receptions, optional tours, and the OSSN/ICTP Educational Conference with special lectures by renown archaeologist Dr.Zahi Hawass, Elinor Garely, Egyptian Tourist Authority directors, and Egypt Suppliers.
In addition, OSSN notes that upon completion of this trip, participating agents will receive certification as "Egypt Specialists" issued by the Egyptian Tourist Authority.
"We are still encouraging people from around the world to become ICTP members as we plan on holding more events such as this conference in the near future," added Steinmetz.
