Thai Airways Internationals in-flight magazine Sawasdee won two awards at the 37th Publication Design Competition organized by the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) of New York.
From over 7,500 entries, the September 2001 issue of the magazine featuring the Made in Thailand article was the winning entry of the
Design : Features category and Bangkok When It Rains photograph by Helen Kudrich in November 2001 issue was the winning entry of the
Photography : Reportage( story) category.
Made in Thailand features quality products and designs of small to medium size businesses, which is in support of the Thai governments policy to promote Thailand tourism and exports.
The winning entries will be showcased in the SPD 37th Publication Design Exhibition at Parsons School of Design in New York.
The awards will be presented in New York on 3 May 2002 at the SPD Annual Award Gala Dinner, which will take place at Celeste Bartos Forum and Astor Hall of the New York Library.
SPD, established in 1965, was formed to acknowledge the roles of art director and designer in the visual understanding of the printed word. The art director as a journalist brings a unique skill to the editorial mission of the publication and clarifies the editorial message.
