Maurice De Rooij has been appointed General Manager of the Holiday Inn Amman, one of 21 Holiday Inn hotels and resorts in the Middle East managed by Six Continents Hotels.
De
Rooij, who began his hospitality career in front office operations with Hilton International in Paris and later Strasbourg, France, was previously general manager of The Holiday Inn Resort Safaga on Egypt’s Red Sea coast.
A graduate from the Dutch hotel management in Maastricht, the Netherlands, De Rooij furthered his post graduate studies in Paris, and then travelled extensively to gain international experience by working in Europe, America, Asia, and now the
Middle East.
During his years in Europe, De Rooij joined the leading hospitality consulting firm, Horwath and Horwath in Lisbon, Portugal. De Rooij continued his career with Accor Hotels in Asia, and opened and managed two properties in Indonesia and
Malaysia.
The 218-room Holiday Inn is located in western Amman, off Madina Monawara Street, and has four internationally themed restaurants, a fitness center, and outdoor swimming pool. To accommodate business needs, there are three meeting rooms, a business
center, and banquet hall for up to 1000 delegates. |
