If you are going to be in London on 3rd June 2002, you might want to fax your confirmed flight itinerary and contact details to the British Tourist Authority in Singapore, as you could be enjoying a cup of tea with The Queen.
Queen Elizabeth II has generously provided the British Tourist Authority in Singapore with limited tickets to attend her Golden Jubilee Pop concert at her London residence, Buckingham Palace. This grand affair will take place on 3rd June.
Michael McCormick, Manager for South East Asia, British Tourist Authority said: "You can't beg, borrow or steal these tickets from anywhere in the world. It is so exclusive that all other limited royal invitations were allocated by ballot to UK nationals. But with this invitation from Her Majesty, a lucky few Singaporeans will have a chance to not only enjoy Britain's countryside and cities, but also its heritage. These lucky Singaporeans will be among a select group from around the world that see this concert live. No amount of money in this world can buy you this entry to Buckingham Palace. I'm quite certain this will be a holiday you wouldn't forget in a hurry."
Simon Walker, Communications Secretary for Buckingham Palace said: "We are delighted to offer overseas visitors the chance to attend The Queen's concerts. We want as many people as possible to enjoy the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations and get a real taste of Britain's royal history."
Winners will be able to have a picnic in the gardens of Buckingham Palance before enjoying performances by international renowned star including Atomic Kitten, Dame Shirley Bassey, Tony Bennett, Blue, Emma Bunton, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, The Corrs, Aretha Franklin, Sir Elton John, Tom Jones, Annie Lennox, Sir Paul McCartney, Queen, plus special guests, Sir Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart and S Club 7, among others.
In addition to attending The Queen's concerts, the winners will also be able to enjoy the rest of the Golden Jubilee celebrations taking place that weekend including a spectacular display by Fireworks Son et Lumiere on the evening of Monday 3rd June and the National Festival in the Mall on the afternoon of Tuesday 4th June.
