A dedicated I.T. Forum is to be staged alongside Arabian Travel Market, the Middle East's premier travel and tourism show, for the first time this year.
Organised by ITP events and with the support of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Government of Dubai, the ATM I.T. Forum will be held at the Dusit Dubai hotel on May 6 and will probe a wide range of issues focussing on the use of technology in the travel industry.
"The travel industry is a key growth sector for the I.T. industry where technology use is impacting bottom-lines the world over," said Patrick Latchem, Event Manager,
ITP.
"From the launch of virtual agencies to on-line booking operators, technology will consistently affect the way the industry does business and a forum focussing on the future implications is now an essential ingredient to any international travel industry event."
Topics under discussion at the Forum include distribution channels, reservation systems, customer relationship management, hardware and software, requirement management and telecommunications technology.
"The travel industry has, and will continue, to embrace the technological advantages I.T. offers," said Matt Thompson, Group Exhibition Director, Overseas Events, Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), which organises Arabian Travel Market. "This event has our full support because we believe it serves an essential educational purpose and is an area we hope to develop within the exhibition itself."
Arabian Travel Market 2002 will be held at the Airport Expo Dubai, United Arab Emirates from May 7-10 this year. To date, exhibitors from 55 countries have contracted for the show which is the ninth in the highly successful series.
RTE, which is part of Reed Exhibition Companies (REC), organises 11 events worldwide, including World Travel Market, Arabian Travel Market, C.I.S. Travel Market, EIBTM, British Travel Trade Fair, PATA Travel Market, International Golf Travel Market, Mediterranean Travel Fair, Top Resa, AIME and ICCA Exhibition in association with ICCA Congress. |
