Dragonair has signed an agreement with Taiwan's Eva Airways that expands the number of flights available to its passengers on the Hong Kong-Taipei route from 22 a week to 62.
The Endorsement Waiver Agreement signed by the two airlines allows passengers holding a Dragonair ticket to fly with either carrier on the route without the need for the ticket to be endorsed beforehand. The arrangement is reciprocal for Eva Air passengers.
"This agreement gives our passengers even greater travel flexibility," said Stanley Hui, Dragonair's Chief Executive Officer. "It means that as well as being able to fly on any of Dragonair's 22 flights a week between Hong and Taipei, they also have the hassle-free option of flying with Eva Airways, which operates 40 flights a week on the route."
The agreement takes effect on August 1, and covers most individual traveller tickets. Group tickets are not included in the agreement.
Dragonair began passenger services between Hong Kong and Taipei yesterday. The airline operates three flights every day of the week, and an additional, fourth flight on Thursdays.
Dragonair is a Hong Kong-based airline, operating a fleet of eight A330-300s, four A321s and eight A320s, in addition to two Boeing 747-300 freighters. The airline's passenger network covers 28 destinations across the Asia-Pacific region, while its cargo network connects the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Taiwan and China.
