Star Cruises has announced the new Northeast China-South Korea itinerary for SuperStar Gemini.
SuperStar Gemini departed from her homeport of Singapore on 19th May 2002 and is expected to arrive at Pyongtaek, South Korea on 29th May 2002 where she will commence Yellow Sea cruises between Northeast China and South Korea calling at Dalian and Qingdao in China on 30th May 2002.
"The earlier-than-anticipated deployment of SuperStar Gemini is timely as it will also coincide with the month-long FIFA World Cup 2002 scheduled from 31st May 2002 to 30th June 2002 thus complementing the World Cup Finals with a world-class cruise ship", said Mr. Chong Chee Tut, Star Cruises' Chief Operating Officer.
"Star Cruises is well poised to expand into the progressively open Chinese market as we believe that SuperStar Gemini will be a fitting pathfinder vessel and precursor to plans which we have in store for both China and the North Asia markets", added Mr
Chong.
"As Star Cruises' operations unfold in North China, it marks a significant step in our venture into the Chinese market which not only promises fascinating destinations but also the potential of developing cruising as a holiday option for the increasingly affluent Chinese market," added Mr.
Chong.
With the addition of the latest ports-of-call, Star Cruises ships now call at 5 destinations along China's coast ie. Xiamen, Hainan Island and Zhanjiang in the south; Qingdao and Dalian in the north.
