The Tourism Authority
of Thailand Board of Directors today appointed Mrs. Juthamas Siriwan the new governor as proposed by the five
recruiting
committee members who unanimously voted in her favour.
Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office and TAT Chairman Mr.
Somsak Thepsutin announced, after the TAT Board Meeting this morning at the TAT Headquarters,
that the Meeting had approved Mrs. Juthamas’ appointment.
Of the six people who applied for the post, only three were
qualified to be considered for the post.
Another committee chaired by Mr. Kamol Chobchuenchom, Deputy
Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Board and
one of TAT Board Members, will negotiate the fringe benefits as well as draft the
employment contract.
The contract will be proposed to the TAT Board Meeting for
approval by September 2. The TAT Board will then seek approval from the Cabinet.
Born on May 4, 1947, Mrs. Juthamas has worked for the TAT since
December 15, 1978. She graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Chulalongkorn
University, and completed an MBA in (Finance) from the US. She initially started
her career in the Budget Bureau, Office of the Prime Minister, in 1974.
In 1978, she worked as TAT’s Chief of Budget Section. She was
later promoted as Chief of Budget Division, Deputy Director of Investment Department, Deputy
Governor for Administration and finally Deputy Governor for Marketing. |
