Emirates SkyCargo has announced the
appointment of Michael Qu Jingfeng as the Cargo Manager who will oversee its
newest cargo route to and from Shanghai.
The weekly flights will be the first-ever direct air link between Dubai and
mainland China, starting from September 15. They will also give Emirates its
second cargo-only route, after Amsterdam.
Mr Qu said: "I am pleased to be joining Emirates, one of the world's fastest
growing airlines, and take responsibility for its business development in
Shanghai, one of the areas of the world with the highest growth potential.
"I am confident Emirates will strengthen its foothold in China by offering a
fast and convenient link to the Middle East, Indian Subcontinents and Africa
via its strong global network. Cargo can be delivered to European countries
from Shanghai within 18 hours in our 120-tonne capacity Boeing 747-400 freighter."
Before joining Emirates SkyCargo, Mr Qu was a Cargo Sales Executive for
Lufthansa. His experience in the cargo business and his close links with
clients will be an advantage to Emirates in developing business in China.
Shanghai shippers will be able to take advantage of Emirates SkyCargo's
award-winning products and services, including its state-of-art SkyChain
logistics management system. The company recently confirmed its place as a
market leader by launching SkyChain, the world's most advanced cargo automation system.
