Six Continents Hotels renews focus on Spas with appointment of new Director of Spas for Asia Pacific

Six Continents Hotels has announced the appointment of Georgia Fell-Smith as Director of Spas, Asia Pacific, a new position created within the group as it commences to increase its focus on branding and positioning of all spas. Georgia will oversee the development and spearhead the expansion of new spas under the group's portfolio. Bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in luxury world-class multiple spa management, she will ensure that the overall concept, design and outfitting are consistent with Six Continents Hotels' international standards. In addition to her regional role, Georgia will also oversee the operations of the spa at the InterContinental, Hong Kong.

Georgia joins us with expertise and knowledge from almost 10 years of experience in the spa and wellness industry. One of Georgia's immediate tasks includes the redesign and refurbishment of existing spa operations, starting with the InterContinental Hong Kong, in an effort to achieve the highest standards of spa services in the region. She will also set and implement operational standards and procedures for all spa operations and initiate new spa therapies and treatments to meet fast-changing consumer needs.

Prior to joining Six Continents Hotels, Georgia was the Regional Vice-President, Hawaii and South Pacific, at Mandara Spa, where she was solely responsible for the overall operations and performance of all the spas and supervised 300 employees. She has also been actively involved in numerous spa development initiatives and openings in many parts of the world including the Caribbean, Guam, Thailand, Malaysia, Siapan, Indonesia and on cruise ships. In 2001, Georgia held a three-tiered title at Mandara Spa where she was responsible for all Caribbean locations and operations, all aspects of the land-based support systems for the cruise ship division and led a team to champion new spa openings including Atlantis Paradise Island and the renowned Ocean Club hotel in the Bahamas. Georgia leaves behind an accolade of achievements with her departure from Mandara Spa. In addition to her spa experience, Georgia has also worked at luxury hotel establishments including the Aman Resorts in Bali and Australia and The Legian in Bali.

Georgia will be based in Hong Kong. She will report to Patrick Imbardelli, Senior Vice-President, Staff Services, Six Continents Hotels, and Jennifer Fox, Managing Director of InterContinental, Hong Kong.
