The Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Khalid A. bin Sulayem and Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Abdul Rahman AL Mutawee received a high level delegation from Yugoslavia yesterday (Monday, 20-5-2002) at the DTCM Head Office. The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the
DTCM.
The 40-member delegation headed by Minister of Trade Tourism and Services, Dr. Slobodan Miliosavljevic comprised of Minister of Transport and Telecommunication, Mrs. Manija Raseta Vukosavlijevie, Assistant Federal Minister, Foreign Affairs, Ms. Aleksandra Joksimovie, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Mr. Radoslav Vaselinovie along with senior officials of major companies, including travel agencies and banks as well as from print and broadcast media. They were in the emirate on the occasion of first direct flight of Yugoslavian Airlines after a break of 10 years between Dubai and Yugoslavia.
Mr. bin Sulayem said, our relations with Yugoslavia are in developing stages and such visits help in strengthening our association with them. "We had detailed discussions and exchange of views. The meeting has
brought fruitful results and in coming years more and more Yugoslavian establishments can be witnessed in the emirate," said Mr. bin
Sulayem.
Mr. bin Sulayem also pointed out that tourism in the emirate is a booming industry as it offers visitors with unique holiday opportunities: "A cosmopolitan society with international life style, Dubai is built on foundation, which is rich in history and tradition".
Mr. bin Sulayem stated that Dubai provides an excellent opportunity to do business and presents international business with a wide range of opportunities for different activities and operations. "Dubai offers incoming businesses all advantages of a highly developed economy. It's infrastructure and services match the highest international standards, facilating efficiency quality and services," he said.
The Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Abdul Rahman AL Mutawee said that his team will offer full support if the visiting delegation plans to open a trade office in the emirate. He also said that the meeting yielded positive results, as the decision makers from various industries were present.
