New Top Management at IATA

Travel News Asia 19 December 2002

IATA's Director General and CEO, Giovanni Bisignani, announced today the following changes in the top management of the airline industry's global trade association.

Kevin Dobby, IATA's Senior Vice President, Member and Government Relations, has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary. In his new role, Mr. Dobby will be responsible for managing the affairs of the Board of Governors, the International Airline Training Fund and appointments to IATA subsidiaries and joint ventures. IATA's Chief Economist will also report to Mr. Dobby.

Thomas Windmuller, presently Senior Director in the CEO's office, will replace Mr. Dobby as the Senior Vice President, Member and Government Relations. In his new role, Mr. Windmuller will be responsible for industry strategy and managing IATA's relations with its Member airlines, with governments and with other segments of the aviation industry.

Mr. Bisignani also announced that Louise Roy, IATA's Senior Vice President, Marketing and Commercial Services, will leave IATA at the end of the year. Robert Hutt, IATA's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will succeed Ms. Roy on an interim basis while IATA recruits a permanent successor.

In announcing these appointments, all of which take effect from 1 January 2003, Mr Bisignani said:

"It is a time of great challenge in the industry and IATA must provide a strong leadership role as the airlines' trade association. With these changes, I am confident that we are beginning to put together the management team needed to assume this role."
