Accor recognises long-serving staff in Thai Hotels

Travel News Asia 18 September 2002

Accor employees at three Thailand hotels were recently recognised for their loyal service and dedication to the company after working 10 years or more at their respective properties.

The award covers all departments in Accor managed hotels in Thailand, with the intent to reward employees for their contribution to the company's continued growth and development.

Presented by Vice President Human Resources - Asia, Fabrice Tessier, those receiving the honour included 35 employees at Novotel Coralia Rim Pae Rayong, 97 at Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square and an impressive 128 employees at Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort.

Together the 260 long-serving employees represent almost 22 per cent of total staffing at the three hotels combined. Their many years of experience complemented by on-going training efforts from Accor's Human Resource Department contributed to the excellent service standards at the three hotels, Mr Tessier, said.

"We are very fortunate to enjoy such strong loyalty and trust from our Thai hotel employees.

"Over twenty per cent of our staff have a high level of seniority at the respective hotels, which translates into better customer relationships, a positive working atmosphere and trust between labour and management.

"We want our hotel employees to stay with Accor long term, and with this recognition it is clear they enjoy working with the company as well."

The award is part of a global recognition programme that will be extended to all countries in Asia where Accor hotels are located. In 2003 employees with 20 years of service will be recognised as part of the anniversary of the Accor Group's creation in 1983.
