RADISSON SAS BEEFS UP SAUDI SALES PRESENCE

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, which operates nine Middle East & African properties with five under development in Egypt, Turkey and Lebanon, has appointed Jordanian Hasan Haitham Barakat as District Sales Manager, Saudi Arabia.

Barakat, 27, joins from Marriott, where he was Regional Sales Manager in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. His Middle East hospitality industry experience includes a sales manager position with Abu Dhabi's Inter-Continental hotel. For three years prior to that he held various positions at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Amman.

"This move strengthens our sales presence in the Kingdom's lucrative outbound market, following last year's appointment of Al Tayyar Group as our General Sales Agent (GSA)," said Mike Pilkington, Regional Director, Sales & Marketing, Middle East & Africa, Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts.

"Every year, Saudis take 4.8 million trips abroad, stay 106 million nights and spend US$14.4 billion on foreign travel, making the Kingdom a market worth investing the necessary resources to capitalise from its huge potential."

Barakat is a graduate of Elite International Academy's hospitality sales and management course and will soon obtain a BA in International Hospitality Management. 

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts operates Middle East & Africa hotels in Amman, Aqaba, Bahrain, Baku, Cape Town, Istanbul, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharm El Sheikh and has hotels under development in Al Quseir, Beirut, Hurghada, Istanbul, and Taba.
