Singapore Airlines (SIA) will add two supplementary flights a week between Singapore and Christchurch to its operational schedule from 2 September 2002 until the end of March 2003.
The supplementary flights have been added to meet expected increased seasonal demand. During the period, SIA will operate five times a week between Singapore and Christchurch.
The new weekly flights, using the Airbus A340-300 aircraft, will depart Singapore for Christchurch on Monday and Wednesday. This will supplement Singapore Airlines' current Christchurch - Singapore service, which operates on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. The additional flights will mean a weekly increase in capacity of 530 seats and about 30 tonnes of cargo.
In addition to the Christchurch service, Singapore Airlines operate a daily B747-400 service between Auckland and Singapore.
