Dates have been set for Asia's longest running hotel investment conference. The 13th annual Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP), formerly known as the Asia Pacific Hotel Investment Conference, will be held October 16-18, 2002 in Hong Kong. The JW Marriott Hotel once again will serve as the host hotel for the successful event, which during the precarious time of last October drew nearly 300 delegates from over 20 countries.
The renaming of the conference and the introduction of a new, distinctive HICAP logo parallel the theme for the 13th annual event, according to co-host Rob Stiles of Sonnenblick-Goldman Company. "Asia - The New View" was selected as the HICAP theme because of the need to emphasize the positive direction and changes now taking place in the Asian hotel industry," stated Stiles. "With the increased business activity we are seeing in Asia and the interest that HICAP already has generated, we believe the upcoming event will draw a capacity crowd. It's a new Asia with new and expanded opportunities, and HICAP will reflect this new view," added co-host Robert Hecker of Horwath Asia Pacific. Stiles and Hecker also announced that Burba Hotel Network (BHN) again will organize the conference. |
