Leading travel agents in Kenya will soon benefit from technology to bring their accounting and information systems
right up to date.
Galileo Emirates back office sales system BOSS was selected for local
travel agents by Nairobi-based Galileo Kenya, the National Distribution
Company owned by Kenya Airways, and has already gone into service at Express
Travel, one of the largest agents in the country. Eight of its branches will
now be equipped with BOSS in an initiative to speed up invoicing and sales
reporting.
Galileo Kenya was also keen to become a participant on Galileo Emirates new
Internet travel service, SafarEZ, pronounced 'Safar easy'. SafarEZ is a
global travel solution with regional focus that serves as an information
supplier and travel gateway.
The deal was agreed last month by Joy Kariuki, Head of Galileo Kenya NDC,
Naz Nizari, General Manager at Galileo Emirates, and Dermot Mannion, Chief
Director Finance, IT and Services for the Emirates Group.
Ms Nizari said: The speed at which the travel industry is changing has
necessitated smart use of channels such as the Internet for the torrent of
information which agents need to compete for business. The need in the
marketplace for providing high-end technology affordable to everyone is the
primary reason for Galileo Kenya's selection of SafarEZ.
"Automating agent's accounting is vital in this fast-paced world, and BOSS
replaces laborious manual book-keeping with a swift and simple system to
manage the entire accounting process.
Another feature of BOSS is its management information system, which allows
agency managers to produce reports analysing how their business is
developing. |
