The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is conducting a Dubai Information Award Training Program for DTCM staff from key overseas offices including the UK and Ireland, USA, Italy, the Russian Federation, India, Japan, Hong Kong and Switzerland.
“This program has been arranged by our inward missions division to help our overseas office staff update their knowledge of the emirate's commercial and tourist attractions,” said DTCM Director General, Khalid A. bin
Sulayem.
The visit forms part of a programme designed to ensure that the DTCM’s overseas personnel acquire a better understanding of the emirate, its economy and tourism infrastructure in order to promote it with greater authority in their home countries.
The familiarization trip offered the overseas executives with an opportunity to have discussions with their Head Office counterparts as well as meetings with representatives of key public and private sector organizations.
On the tourism front, the overseas executives met with representatives of some of the leading hotels in Dubai, in addition to touring the emirate's various attractions.
“We acknowledge the significance of providing opportunities to all staff, to improve their job-related knowledge and skills as this enhances their individual effectiveness, enabling them to make greater contributions to the work of the department in support of the DTCM's goals,” observed Mr. bin
