Sedona Hotel Yangon was pleased to receive President Tran Duc Luong of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and his delegation on 6 May 2002. Delegates from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Union of Myanmar convened at Sedona Hotel Yangon for the fourth meeting of the joint commission for bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Vietnam.
President Tran Duc Luong arrived in Yangon, Myanmar on 5 May 2002 for a four-day state visit, at the invitation of Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar. While the Vietnam President stayed at the State Guest House during his visit, his Ministers enjoyed well-appointed accommodation and gracious service at Sedona Hotel

President Tran Duc Luong visited Sedona Hotel Yangon on 6 May 2002 to join his Ministers at the bilateral meeting with delegates from the Union of Myanmar. President Tran's visit provided an opportunity for open dialogue between the two countries to discuss on various matters from home affairs and trade development, to foreign investments and tourism issues. The discussions serve to uplift the bilateral cooperation between the two parties to greater heights in the future.

The seventh Mekong Tourism Forum was recently held at Sedona Hotel Yangon from 4 to 6 April, attracting more than 150 participants from the Greater Mekong region.
