Six Continents Hotels has entered into an agreement with Rooty Hill RSL Club Limited to take on management of -the Country Comfort Rooty Hill RSL Resort and re-brand the hotel as a Holiday Inn.
Scheduled for July, 2002, the re-branded hotel will join the Group's expanding portfolio of Holiday Inn hotels in Sydney that includes hotels in The Rocks, Potts Point, Sydney Airport and most recently Darling
Harbour.
The 161 room hotel is situated adjacent to the Rooty Hill RSL Club in Western Sydney and includes conference and banquet facilities for up to 250 people. The Rooty Hill RSL Club is currently in final stages of completing design and planning for additional conference and function facilities.
"We are focussing on continuing the expansion of our portfolio of Holiday Inn hotels and are on track with achieving our goal of doubling the number of Holiday Inn hotels in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific over the next three to four years," said Six Continents Hotels' Chief Operating Officer for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Phil Lee.
"The addition of a Holiday Inn hotel in Western Sydney will enhance our brand distribution in a large domestic market. The Holiday Inn brand will also open this hotel up to global markets it would not otherwise have been exposed to," Phil said.
General Manager of Rooty Hill RSL, Phillip Rudder said: "we were one of the first RSL clubs in Australia to attach a hotel to our complex, and we have seen that trend escalate among other RSL clubs over the last ten years as the benefits of an onsite hotel become more apparent. The Holiday Inn brand will help us realise the potential of both the hotel and the RSL club."
Local attractions for the hotel include Wonderland, Featherdale Wildlife Park and major sporting venues such as Eastern Creek Raceway. Head offices and manufacturing facilities of many major corporations are also located near the hotel. |
