Galileo International and the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA) today announced that Flo Lugli, SVP, Global Supplier Business Development for Galileo, has been named the recipient of HEDNA's 2002 President's Award for Excellence. Lugli will accept the award at the HEDNA 2002 Global Meeting on May 15 in London.
"Flo's tremendous contributions to the e-commerce hospitality arena have brought profoundly positive changes to the industry," said HEDNA President Roland Tanner, Vice President of Utell - Pegasus Solutions, Inc. "I am honored to present one of my predecessors, as a former HEDNA president, with this well-deserved award, and I hope to continue her heritage of excellence."
HEDNA's President's Award for Excellence is given annually to an industry leader in appreciation of his or her outstanding achievement and contributions made in the industry toward electronic distribution. The award is determined by a vote of HEDNA's membership. A leading figure in marketing and hospitality technology, Lugli has been on the forefront of efforts to lead the travel industry into the future through technological advances and the development of innovative e-business travel distribution solutions. Prior to joining Galileo, Lugli was president of WizCom International. She has also served two terms as president of
HEDNA.
"To be recognized by hotel and technology industry leaders worldwide is a great honor," said Lugli. "I've always challenged myself, as well as my peers and colleagues, to find new and better ways to manage the distribution of our products. For example, while I was at WizCom, we launched EasyAcess Plus, a comprehensive distribution initiative that enables travel companies to more efficiently and effectively manage their products on both online and offline channels. I hope this contribution and others will continue to make a positive impact to the success of the industry's management of electronic distribution." |
