United Airlines (NYSE:UAL) today announced that, effective October 15, 2002, it will no longer pay a base commission to travel agents located outside the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada for sales of travel originating in the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada.
This policy applies to all tickets, Miscellaneous Charge Orders (MCO's), Prepaid Ticket Advices (PTA's) and internet bookings. Visit USA, all Airpass products and point to point VUSA fares, are exempt from this change.
United will have no further comment on this policy. Travel agents may obtain additional information by referring to the key word "commission" on their computer reservations system. |
