Air New Zealand has committed to providing seven additional services a week between Sydney and Auckland on its currently published flight schedule effective November 2002 - April 2003. The airline will increase frequency from a planned 28 services a week to 35 a week - making a total of five flights each day between the two cities.
Air New Zealand Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution, Norm Thompson said the airline's increased frequency was in response to growing demand and services will be operated using a mix of jet aircraft within the airline's existing Boeing fleet.
"Air New Zealand reduced its Sydney-Auckland services from four to three services daily after reduced demand post-September 2001.
"We had re-instated the fourth daily in our new schedule (November 02- April 03 season) and planned to increase further in the medium-term, following delivery of the new Airbus 320 aircraft which will be well suited to this route.
"However, the demand is there now and we have been able to re-arrange available aircraft so it makes sense for us to provide five daily services at this time," said Mr Thompson.
All schedule changes take effect from 4 November 2002. |
