American Airlines will add a second daily, nonstop flight from Miami to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, beginning July 2, 2002. The airline will serve the route with the 176-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft featuring roomier coach cabins.
"We're pleased to begin offering passengers to and from Honduras the convenience of a second daily flight to Tegucigalpa," said Peter J. Dolara, Americans senior vice president for Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America. "This second daily flight will join our existing daily flight from Miami to Tegucigalpa and is further evidence of our commitment to grow our service to Latin America."
American has served Honduras for 12 years. Currently, American flies to Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula in Honduras from Miami. In total, American serves 25 cities in Central and South America.
American and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, operate more than 260 daily flights from Miami to more than 80 destinations, including 43 points in the Caribbean and Latin America, and 36 daily flights from Fort Lauderdale.
