Udaivilas, the Oberoi Group's latest resort, which is located on Lake Pichola, will open on August 15, 2002.
Udaivilas is a luxury resort and has been conceived in the royal tradition of the grand palaces of Mewar. In keeping with the traditions of the region, the resort will have extensive gardens, courtyards, fountains and reflecting pools. The resort commands a magnificent view of Lake Pichola, the City Palace and the Aravalli range.
Accommodation consists of elegantly appointed deluxe rooms and suites. All rooms have private terraces and Italian white marble bathrooms with separate shower stalls. Many rooms have an access from individual room terraces to a very large semi-private swimming pool.
A special feature of the hotel is that all suites have private pools.
The resort has two restaurants which will serve fine Continental, Indian and Rajasthani cuisine. During good weather, the hotel will have Alfresco dining in the courtyard overlooking Lake
Pichola.
The two large swimming pools will be solar heated during the winter months. The resort has seven especially equipped meeting rooms with state-of-the-art audio-visual facilities which will make Udaivilas an ideal venue for meetings and conferences.
A very extensive Spa, managed by Banyan Tree, is a special feature of the resort. Guests can avail of a range of non-clinical rejuvenating and pampering treatments in well designed private therapy suites overlooking Lake
Pichola.
The city of Udaipur has a rich cultural heritage and its many palaces, forts and temples make it a favoured destination.
Personalized service by caring and attentive staff, which is a hallmark of Oberoi Hotels and Resorts worldwide, will ensure that each guest has a memorable experience.
The resort can be accessed by air, rail or road. There are daily air services from Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai to Udaipur.
