Joe's career has spanned a variety of eminent boutique hotels, including The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh, Egypt and The Oberoi, Lombok in Indonesia. Joe spent five years as the opening General Manager of the exclusive, The Oberoi, Lombok, where he earned The Oberoi many accolades including ranking as one of the "101 Best Hotels" by Tatler Magazine - UK, one of "The World's Best Kept Secrets" by Travel Holiday Magazine - USA, "Best New Resort of 1997," and "Award for Excellence" by readers of the Gallivanter's Guide 1998 - UK, "Grand Award Winner - Hideaways of theYear 1997" by the Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report - UK and was included in Conde Nast USA's "Hot List" of top ten recommended Asia Pacific Resorts in 1998, Conde Nast also included The Oberoi in its "The Best of the Best" issue where they achieved the position of 20th best resort worldwide and 8th best small hotel in Asia Pacific in 1999. Polito qualified in professional catering from the Culinary Institute of America, New York, USA, and acquired an Associates Degree in Specialized Business Management from The Philadelphia Restaurant School, Pennysylvania, USA. Polito majored in Business Management from the University of Pennysylvania at
Edinboro.
