The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently convened a meeting with the Hotel and Hotel Apartment Group at the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai where key industry issues were discussed at length.
The meeting chaired by the DTCM Director General, Khalid A. bin Sulayem was attended by the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Administration Director General, Brigadier Saeed bin Belaila, Major Mohammed Rashid of Dubai Police Tourist Unit and other senior DTCM officials as well as General Managers of leading hotel establishments in Dubai.
The attendees discussed visa related issues in detail. There were talks on improvement of electronic link between DTCM, hotel establishments and Dubai Police to enhance the communication with government department as well as the hotel industry. “DTCM is committed to create an effective partnership between government and our customers to make Dubai one of the premier destinations of tourism,” said Mr. bin
Sulayem.
DTCM is also working with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Police to solve the jet skiing issues and use of private four-wheel drive vehicles on the beaches, adjacent to the hotels. “Security of visitors and residents is our first priority. In this regard we are in constant touch with the concerned departments to ensure the safety and comforts of beach lovers,” stated Mr. bin
Sulayem.
The attendees also called for joint co-operation between government and private organizations to promote disabled tourism “It has been DTCM’s constant effort to promote Dubai as a destination for all. We believe there is a significant amount of potential for disabled tourism and encourage our partners to encourage the services and facilities provided to disabled visitors,” said Mr. bin
Sulayem.
The group co-coordinators for various hotel categories presented their reports highlighting the concerns and issues of the hotel establishments in Dubai.
DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb spoke about the DTCM’s marketing plans for promoting the emirate. “We will be marketing Dubai extensively in Russia and later we will launch international and regional media campaign in major TV channels to promote Dubai,” stated Mr. bin
