Six Continents Hotels today announced the re-branding of Parkroyal Christchurch to Crowne Plaza Christchurch on Tuesday, 30 April. Crowne Plaza Christchurch will be the first hotel to take on this global brand in South Island and the second Crowne Plaza hotel in New Zealand.
As part of the re-branding, plans to upgrade the 298-room hotel will include the development of Crowne Plaza Club Floors and Club Lounge as well as the refurbishment of all accommodation rooms.
Forming an exclusive executive level of the hotel, the new Crowne Plaza Club Floors will offer complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails in the club lounge, enhanced room features such as larger work areas and televisions and more luxurious in-room facilities and furnishings.
Crowne Plaza Christchurch, with a commanding position over Victoria Square and located adjacent to the Christchurch Convention Centre and the Christchurch Casino, is already renowned as the city's premier hotel.
Crowne Plaza Christchurch will now be part of the Crowne Plaza network of more than 150 hotels in 43 countries worldwide, including 18 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region. With Crowne Plaza Auckland, this is the only truly international hotel brand with two destinations in New Zealand.
"The re-branding and upgrading of Crowne Plaza Christchurch is an important step towards increasing the hotel's share of international and domestic markets while at the same time developing new markets," said Six Continents Hotels Chief Operating Officer for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Phil Lee.
"The introduction of Crowne Plaza products such as Crowne Plaza Club, Healthy Self and Your Room is Always Ready will enhance the guest experience. Guests will now also enjoy the benefits of the Six Continents Hotels loyalty program - Priority Club Rewards," Crowne Plaza Christchurch General Manager, Robert Coates said.
Crowne Plaza Christchurch Chairman, Barry Thomas said: "the upgrading and re-branding is a significant step forward for this hotel as it will enhance its position as the leading hotel in the city as well as a globally recognised destination." |
