Raffles International appoints two new General Managers

Two new General Managers have taken over the helm at Swissôtel The Stamford in Singapore and Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh, Cambodia respectively from November 2002.

Raffles International Limited appointed Mr. Thomas Meier as the General Manager of Swissôtel The Stamford in Singapore. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Meier was the General Manager of Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Mr. Meier has 9 years of management experience in hospitality and banking sectors and is a graduate of École Hotelière de Lausanne in Switzerland. He first joined Raffles International as a Resident Manager of then the Hotel Le Royal. He was promoted to Hotel Manager and to General Manager of the hotel this year. Mr. Meier was conferred the Young Hotelier of the World award by the International Hotel and Restaurant Association in 2000. 
Replacing Mr. Meier as the General Manager at Raffles Hotel Le Royal is Mr. Stephan Gnaegi. Mr. Gnaegi was previously the Executive Assistant Manager of Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

Mr. Gnaegi brings with him over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working in a variety of Food & Beverage, Operations and Management positions with several premium hotels in London, Hongkong, Malaysia, Bangkok, Mauritius and Geneva. He joined Raffles International in January 2002.
