Accor will bring its innovative Coralia resort concept to Khao Lak in Thailands
emerging Phang-nga province north of Phuket, with the opening of the Novotel
Coralia Magic Lagoon on December 1.
The four-star resort is located just 85 kilometres, or a 45-minute drive,
north of Phuket International Airport.
Its attractive Thai-style architecture blends perfectly with the resorts
lagoon-style landscaping, with buildings a maximum of three stories in
height, and the general layout offers sea-views from each room. All ground
floor guestrooms have direct access to an extended lagoon-style swimming
pool, with 50 sqm rooms including the terrace or balcony accentuating the
spacious resort. Most primary building material have been sourced locally.
Once complete the 200-room Novotel Coralia Magic Lagoon will feature three
restaurants, including a Thai seafood outlet, Coffee shop and pool
restaurant; two bars, meeting facilities, health and fitness
centre, swimming pool and two tennis courts.
One hundred rooms will open this December 1 with one restaurant, both bars
and partial sports facilities. The resort will then be closed early May 2003
to re-open in November 2003 with the total 200 rooms and complete
facilities.
Senior Vice President Asia, Reggie Shiu, said the addition of Novotel
Coralia Magic Lagoon to the Coralia network in Thailand would provide guests
with greater flexibility in planning holidays.
The Novotel Coralia Magic Lagoon will be the first internationally managed
hotel in a beautiful destination where the environment has been well looked
after. Combined with our nearby Coralia resorts in Phuket and Koh
Samui, Accor is able to offer three outstanding resort hotels in Thailands best
southern beach destinations.
In Asia, Accors growing network of Coralia resorts offers some nine prime
leisure destinations. In Thailand this includes the contemporary four-star
Novotel Phuket Resort and the family-oriented Novotel Rim Pae in Rayong and
Mercure Coralia Koh Samui; in Indonesia the unique Sasak-village style
Novotel Lombok and Novotel Benoa Bali. As well as beachside resorts, Coralia
offers a number of golfing resorts, such as the Novotel Coralia Ocean Dunes
Resort in Vietnams Phan Thiet and Novotel Coralia Bogor near Jakarta in
Indonesia.
Guests staying at Coralia resorts will notice the difference with both the
facilities and service offered at the hotels. For instance, in
Coralia-labelled resort hotels restaurants are open throughout the day, and
the Coralia Discovery Desk caters to visitors who come to a destination not
just to enjoy the resort but also to discover the culture and attractions of
the local area. Here guests can book into the hotel activities, which are
designed for adults and children, and are based around nature, culture,
sport and fun.
The architecture and internal design of Coralia resorts features local
materials to blend in with the natural surroundings. At restaurants diners
can explore the local fare and even study the local cuisine through lessons
by the hotels chefs. When themed dinners are presented Coralia offers more
than just themed food.
Entertainment will also have a local style and in all
activities staff are encouraged to become closely involved with guests by
providing local information, entertainment and special facilities,
particularly for children. |
