Ramada International Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR), recently opened its first hotel in Turkey, the 319-room Kaya Ramada Plaza Istanbul. Ramada Plaza is Ramada International’s upper-tier lodging product, offering more luxurious amenities than the standard Ramada International hotel.
“With global growth a brand priority, we think it is only fitting that Istanbul, a city that has stood as one of the world’s most famous crossroads, is the site of our newest hotel,” said Reas Kondraschow, senior vice president and managing director, Ramada International Hotels & Resorts.
The Kaya Ramada Plaza is owned and operated by Kaya Holding A.S. under a franchise agreement with Ramada International. Ms. Tijen Gunyol is the general manager.
The hotel is located on the access road of Hadimkoy on the E-5 Highway in Buyukcekmece, a suburb west of the greater Istanbul metropolitan area. It is 18kms west of Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport and 35 kms east of the city’s central business district. The hotel is adjacent to the largest exhibition and fair center in Istanbul.
For dining and entertainment, the Kaya Ramada Plaza Istanbul features two restaurants offering Turkish and international cuisine, a formal lounge, a jazz bar and a pastry outlet.
The hotel’s guest amenities include business facilities with wireless internet access and a full health and beauty care center with Turkish baths, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, gymnasium, solarium and a skin-care unit. There is also a garage with parking for 200 cars.
For business and social events, the hotel offers 21 meeting rooms, including a grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,100 guests. There are 15 meeting rooms that can accommodate 10-150 people.
Ramada Plaza is designed to meet the needs of today’s travelers with luxury amenities and services. All Ramada Plaza hotels have in-room mini-bars, large televisions with at least two English language channels and a movie channel, sunrise check-in as early as 7 a.m., air-conditioning and climate control in every room, a 24-hour health club, concierge services in English and the local language, meeting space, at least one restaurant and bar, and 24-hour room service.
The hotel will maintain Ramada International’s five pillars, which are: a restful sleep, an invigorating shower, a well-trained staff, an exceptional level of cleanliness and the “Ramada Mornings Breakfast” – a selection that is hot, delicious and easy.
In addition to Ramada Plaza, Ramada International has three other hotel products in its portfolio: Ramada Hotels, Ramada Resorts and Ramada Encore. There are currently 143 Ramada International Hotels & Resorts in operation in 21 countries around the world. |
