United Airlines Provides Assistance to Canada 3000 Passengers

Travel News Asia Date: 9 November 2001

United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) today announced the following procedures to assist passengers holding reservations on Canada 3000, following the unexpected cessation of their operations today.

United notes that while the carrier made no prior arrangements that would enable United to accept Canada 3000 tickets issued prior to November 9, 2001, it is announcing today that it will offer the following assistance to customers holding Canada 3000 tickets:

- For passengers who have already commenced their travel and are now stranded in the middle of their journey, United Airlines is offering half return fares, subject to some fare limitations.

- For Canada 3000 ticket holders who have not yet commenced their travel, United Airlines will waive advance-purchase restrictions on its fares, based on lowest-available booking code.

To obtain United tickets, customers must show proof of Canada 3000 tickets or E-ticket receipt. Reservations and ticketing must be accomplished directly within United Airlines, with travel valid only on United-operated flights and United Express flights.

The above policy is valid over United's entire worldwide route network, accessible in Canada from Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Canada 3000 customers requiring assistance should contact United Reservations directly at 1-800-241-6522, or may contact United's customer service personnel in Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver airports.
