Airlines' (SIA) frequent flyer programme - KrisFlyer, picked up its
first ever award at the TIME Readers' Travel Choice Awards held in
Singapore last night.
In a recent survey of TIME's inaugural issue of TIME Traveler, SIA's
KrisFlyer emerged tops in the 'Most Popular Airline Frequent Flyer
Programme' category. SIA also picked up the 'Preferred Airline' award.
The Hong Kong-based magazine conducted a survey of its readers over a
three-month period starting April this year, and respondents came from
more than 12 different Asian countries including China, Japan, Korea and
India.
At the TravelWeekly East's Inaugural Innovators Awards 2001 held in
July, SIA won the 'Best Innovator' award. Singapore-based TravelWeekly
East said that "the objective of the Innovators Awards is to recognise
companies and players in Asia/Pacific which have been innovative in
differentiating themselves from the competition by applying cutting edge
management techniques".
Further away from home, SIA also picked up several notable awards over
the last few months.
US-based Worth Magazine awarded SIA 'Top Rated Airline' in its Readers'
Choice Survey in July. Another US magazine, Travel & Leisure, named SIA
as the 'Best Foreign Airline' in its World's Best Award in the same
month.
In June, SIA garnered two awards in the United Kingdom.
Guardian/Observer Travel presented SIA 'Best Leisure Airline' in its
recent Travel Awards and SIA won the 'Best Airline to Southeast Asia'
category in the Selling Long Haul Travel Awards section of the UK Travel
Industry Awards. Elsewhere in Italy, Motor Show magazine awarded SIA
'Best Airline Company for Far East for 2001'.
These awards are the latest in the growing haul of awards SIA has
received from around the world. |
