Cathay Pacific
Airways today welcomed Taiwan's announcement that Hong Kong and Macau
resident can now apply for provisional travel permits after they arrive
in Taiwan. This new policy will make it far more convenient for
travellers from Hong Kong and Macau to visit Taiwan and help boost trade
and tourism links between Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
The announcement on issuing provisional travel permits was made
yesterday by the Taiwanese Government. The policy will come into effect
from 8 August and is applicable to all Hong Kong and Macau residents who
hold or have ever held valid permits to visit Taiwan. The provisional
visa entitles them to stay up to 14 days and can be applied for at
either Chang Kai Shek International Airport in Taipei or Kaohsiung
International Airport in Kaohsiung.
Cathay Pacific warmly welcomes this new arrangement which provides extra
convenience to Hong Kong and Macau residents and facilitates the
development of the tourism industry in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. |
