ATC RELEASES DETAILS FOR NATIONWIDE ROADSHOW

The Australian Tourist Commission (ATC) today released details of its new nationwide Roadshow, beginning next month aimed at giving the industry a bigger say in the ATC's strategic and operational plans.

ATC Managing Director, Ken Boundy said the Roadshow would provide the industry with an opportunity to discuss the latest international issues and how Australia is marketed internationally.

"We want to hear what the industry thinks on our current activities and programs as well as where our focus should be in the future," Mr Boundy said.

"Beginning in Darwin next month, the Roadshow will provide an opportunity to discuss key issues and have input into the ATC's strategic direction.

"The one day forum will cover topics ranging from the ATC's advertising campaigns, issues and trends in key tourism markets as well as how businesses can become more involved in all aspects of ATC activities from our Visiting Journalists Programs, trade events and cooperative marketing initiatives.

"The Roadshow is a key component of the ATC's Talkback Program which aims to provide better consultation and communication with our industry partners."

Darwin Wednesday 5 September, Novotel Atrium
Canberra Tuesday 11 September, Novotel Canberra
Sydney Friday 14 September, Mercure Hotel
Gold Coast Monday 17 September, Grand Mercure Hotel Broadbeach
Cairns Wednesday 19 September, Novotel Palm Cove Resort
Adelaide Tuesday 25 September, Stamford Plaza
Perth Thursday 27 September, Novotel Langley
Hobart Thursday 9 October, Hobart Function & Conference Centre
Melbourne Thursday 11 October, Novotel Melbourne on Collins

ATC executives will be attending the event including ATC 's new managing Director, Ken Boundy as well as senior executives from the ATC team. While in each location, the ATC will also meet with the State or Territory tourism organisation.
